1. What age groups do you offer swim lessons for?

We specialize in teaching infants and toddlers, focusing on children from 3 years to 12 years old. We also offer School Holiday Swimming Camps for children aged 4-12.

2. How do I know if my child is ready for swim lessons?

If your child is at least 3 years old, they are ready to start! Our programs are designed for all levels, from beginners who may have little to no water experience to more experienced young swimmers.

3. What should my child bring to class?

Please bring a swimsuit, a towel and a water bottle.

4. How long does it take for a child to learn basic swimming skills?

The timeline varies depending on each child’s comfort level and frequency of lessons. With consistent attendance, most children begin developing basic self-rescue skills and foundational techniques within a few weeks to months.

5. What happens if my child misses a class?

We understand that schedules can be unpredictable! If your child misses a class, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you with a makeup session, depending on availability.

6. What if my child is afraid of water?

Our instructors are trained to work with children who may have a fear of water. We use gradual, gentle techniques to help them feel comfortable and build trust, with a focus on making lessons enjoyable and stress-free.

7. Can siblings of different ages take lessons at the same time?

We do our best to accommodate families with multiple children! While our classes are structured by age and skill level, we can try to schedule siblings in overlapping time slots when possible.

8. How are your instructors trained?

All LilFins instructors are certified and trained specifically in teaching young children, with additional qualifications in CPR, first aid, and infant and toddler water safety techniques. We also participate in ongoing training to stay updated on the best practices in swim instruction.

9. What skills will my child learn in their first few classes?

In the initial classes, children will learn to Comfort in Water and Technique Safety in Pool. Our goal is to build confidence and lay the foundation for future swimming skills.

10. Do you offer a trial class for new students?

Yes, we offer a trial class for new students! This gives children chance to experience our program, meet our instructors, and see how comfortable your child feels in the water. The trial class typically lasts for 30 minutes, which is enough time for children to become comfortable with the water and for the instructor to assess their starting skill level. Fees only RM50.
